Built for Canada's moment
Canada is investing in defence at a scale not seen in decades, and it is looking to Canadian innovators to deliver. Ontario Tech already brings strong researchers, specialized facilities and trusted industry partners to that challenge. The Defence Lab exists to bring those strengths to bear on Canada's defence priorities with the focus and pace this moment demands.
From idea to reality
The Defence Lab will build so that it can develop an idea into reality. It will turn Ontario Tech research into technologies that are tested, proven and ready for the people who serve Canada. The result: more Canadian-made solutions reaching the Canadian Armed Forces, and a larger role for Ontario Tech in delivering them.
A standing and secure front door
Ontario Tech is already a qualified supplier on the Department of National Defence's Defence Drone Initiative Marketplace, and the Defence Lab builds on that start. Rooted in Oshawa's National Defence Innovation Corridor, the Lab will grow alongside the industry partners and innovators shaping Canada's defence sector. We are building it now.
